Simple Clauses

Akath uses mostly SVO order, with variations sounding marked. Also notice that the direct object takes the accusative case.

ne xanfoy tathe. (I drink water / I am drinking water.)

tathe xanfoy ne. (same as above; marked)

Verbs of movement

Verbs of movement usually have their destination in the accusative.

Sow klefur teppiwece. (We are going to the city.)

cena zammur kaklase. (People are coming to the farm)

Past Tense

pu klefpoy pumance. (The hunter went to the forest)

orzix traspafri saynu pyekof. (Silver was found near the river)

Subordinate Clauses

Mood change clauses

Subordinate clauses in optative or quotative don't need a conjunction:

thi wejopoy cena ra zammecar. (He said that people will come)

cena zammecur, traspunecur the. (People will come to meet him)

"Nu" clauses

When the subordinate clause is in the indicative, the conjunction nu is used:

ne klomoy nu cena zammoy. (I know that people are coming)
