Indicative
The "default" mood for most utterances; used to indicate actual events and hypotheticals.
Optative
Indicates wishes and purposes.
- Optative usage meaning "may it happen"
- It may use the evidentiality particle taw to indicate it's counterfactual.
- Purpose usage "he went there to find his friend"
- Tense indicate the time when the action happened (unlike English).

Quotative
Indicates indirect speech (including reported speech, thoughts, opinions, etc.)
Additionally, an evidentiality particle is used (usually just before the verb):
- ra: indicates something unproven (could be happening, the speaker doesn't know for sure)
- sez: confirms the fact
- taw: indicates the reported fact is false
